LidDate

LidDate is a cosmetics PAO (period-after-opening) tracker. Scan the barcode, record the opening date, and read the 6M / 12M mark on the lid. We remind you 14, 7, and 1 days before it is due. No ingredient scores and no family sharing — just the products you are using now.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. We are transparent, comply with privacy regulations such as GDPR where applicable, and provide this privacy policy in clear language.

Who collects the data?

The legal entity which owns LidDate is:
I-Mars Limited
Room 803, 8/F, K Wah Center, 191 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong

What data do we collect and why?

  • Email address — when you register or sign in with email, to identify your account and sync your cabinet across devices
  • Account identifier (Firebase UID) — to link your cabinet, subscription status, and sign-in method to your account
  • Sign-in provider information — if you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive the account identifier and profile details permitted by that provider
  • Anonymous account flag — if you continue without creating an account, we still create an anonymous Firebase user so your cabinet can sync on that device
  • Cabinet (product) data — brand, name, opening date (or not opened yet), PAO months (3 / 6 / 12 / 24), category, barcode, public product image URL, PAO source (database, estimate, or manual), and a local photo path string if you attach a photo on the device
  • Cabinet counters — product count and whether Unlimited is active, so the free 10-product cap can be applied
  • Barcode lookup queries — product barcodes you scan are checked first against a local Open Beauty Facts index bundled in the app; if there is no match, the barcode is sent to the public Open Beauty Facts API to look up brand, name, and PAO. LidDate does not score ingredients
  • Camera — used on the device to scan barcodes. We do not upload camera frames to our servers
  • Reminder preferences — which of the 14 / 7 / 1 day reminders you keep on; stored on the device, not in our cloud
  • Subscription & purchase records (iOS) — product identifiers and transaction references from the App Store so we can mark your account as Unlimited
  • Subscription & purchase records (Android) — if you use the Android edition, the equivalent records come from Google Play
  • App Check tokens — device attestation sent to Google Firebase so only genuine app clients can talk to our backend
  • Advertising data — LidDate may show ads. When ads are shown, Google AdMob may collect device advertising identifiers and usage data according to Google’s policies

LidDate does not send push tokens to a cloud messaging service, and does not collect analytics or crash-reporting profiles beyond what the operating system, store, or ad SDK may collect independently.

Barcode & public reference data

Brand, name, and PAO for scanned products come from Open Beauty Facts, a crowdsourced cosmetics catalogue published under ODbL. A periodically updated local index is bundled in the app for offline lookup. If a barcode is not in that index, LidDate makes one request to world.openbeautyfacts.org. That is public reference data, not a personal score of your products. Lookup of unknown barcodes requires a network connection.

PAO on the lid is what matters. Database values are a starting point; you should confirm the period printed on your pack. LidDate is not an official Open Beauty Facts application and is not a cosmetics-safety or ingredient-rating service.

Where are the data stored?

Account and cabinet data are stored on Google Cloud Platform, using Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Product photos you take stay on your device; only a local file path may be stored with the product record. Reminder preferences stay on the device. Servers may be located outside your country of residence, including regions such as the United States and Asia.

How are the data secured?

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to cloud data is protected by Firebase Authentication, Firestore security rules, and Firebase App Check. We take security seriously. If you suspect any security issue, contact us immediately at imars@i-mars.cc.

What is shared with other users?

Nothing. LidDate has no family sharing and no public profiles. Your cabinet is visible only to the account you signed in with.

What is shared with third parties?

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the app:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store subscription verification
  • Google — Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, App Check), Google Sign-In, and AdMob when ads are shown. On the Android edition only, purchase verification also uses Google Play billing
  • Open Beauty Facts — barcode lookup for products not in the local index (barcode only; no account data)
  • When required by law or to comply with a valid legal process
  • In connection with a sale of all or part of our business

Subscriptions

App Store (iOS). LidDate Unlimited is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings. Deleting the LidDate account does not cancel App Store billing.

Android. The Android edition sells the same Unlimited access through Google Play. Cancel there separately; deleting the LidDate account does not cancel that billing either.

How long are the data stored?

While your account is active and as needed to provide the service, unless you delete your account or we shut down the service. Reminder preferences on the device are removed if you uninstall the app or clear app data.

How to export your data?

LidDate does not currently include an in-app export. For a copy of your cabinet data, contact us at imars@i-mars.cc from the email address on the account.

How to delete my account & data?

You can delete your account in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Guest cabinets: Settings → Sign in → Delete this cabinet. Email-and-password accounts can also use our web deletion page. This removes your user profile, the products in your cabinet, and the Firebase Auth user.

If you signed in with Apple or Google, delete the account in the app. You will be asked to confirm with Apple or Google. You can also contact us at imars@i-mars.cc.

App Store (iOS). Cancel an active subscription separately in the App Store (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Deleting the LidDate account does not cancel App Store billing.

Android. If you subscribed on the Android edition, cancel separately in Google Play. Deleting the LidDate account does not cancel that billing either.

Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Children

LidDate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

How to raise a complaint?

Contact us at imars@i-mars.cc.

What happens when the service is shut down?

We will try to avoid service shutdown. If we expect to discontinue the service, we will contact registered users by email at least one month in advance so you can request an export of your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
