Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. We are transparent, comply with privacy regulations such as GDPR where applicable, and provide this privacy policy in clear language.

Who collects the data?

The legal entity which owns Allergy Guard HK is:
I-Mars Limited
Room 803, 8/F, K Wah Center, 191 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong

What data do we collect and why?

  • Email address — when you register or sign in with email, to identify your account and sync alert settings across devices
  • Account identifier (Firebase UID) — to link your device profile, alert rules, and cloud data to your account
  • Alert settings — watched locations, thresholds (AQHI, PM2.5, ozone, humidity), quiet hours, and notification preferences for the core functionality of the app
  • Push notification token — to deliver threshold alerts to your device
  • Anonymous device session — if you use the app without signing in, a temporary anonymous ID may be used until you link an email account
  • Analytics data — anonymized logs of app usage (e.g. screens viewed, feature usage) to improve the product and detect UX issues
  • Crash reporting data — diagnostic information about crashes (device, OS version, language, etc.) to fix stability issues
  • Advertising data (if enabled) — Google AdMob may collect device advertising identifiers and usage data according to Google’s policies when ads are shown in the app

Environmental data shown in the app

Air quality and weather readings displayed in Allergy Guard HK come from Hong Kong government open data (e.g. Environmental Protection Department, Hong Kong Observatory). These are public datasets, not personal data you provide to us. Update times depend on the source agencies.

Where are the data stored?

Account and alert data are stored on Google Cloud Platform, primarily using Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging). Servers may be located outside Hong Kong, including the United States.

How are the data secured?

We use industry-standard providers (Google Firebase) and transmit data over HTTPS. Access to your cloud data is restricted by authentication rules tied to your account. If you suspect a security issue, contact us immediately at imars@i-mars.cc.

What is shared with other users?

Allergy Guard HK is not a social app. We do not share your email, alert rules, or location preferences with other app users.

What is shared with third parties?

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only with:

  • Google — Firebase (auth, database, messaging, analytics, crash reporting), AdMob (if ads are enabled), and Google Play statistics;
  • Apple — App Store distribution and push notification infrastructure on iOS;
  • when required by law or to comply with a valid legal process;
  • in connection with a sale of all or part of our business.

How long are the data stored?

While your account is active, we retain your settings and alert history needed to operate the service. After account deletion, we remove associated cloud data within a reasonable period, subject to backup and legal retention requirements.
